Chicago a cappella is seeking an intern to assist with marketing, production, and fundraising. Interns will have the opportunity to see from the inside how a small nonprofit arts organization is run, and may also gain exposure to board development, planning, finance and budgeting.
Social Media: Assist with content planning and creation
Target Marketing: Research opportunities, conduct outreach, and assist with creation of promotional materials
Production: Prepare supplies, assist with on-site setup/tear down and provide ticketing or other front-of house assistance as needed
Fundraising: Assist with event planning and execution of fundraising mailings and other campaigns
Other Ongoing Projects: Captioning for all YouTube content, video editing as needed, venue research, and database management
Interest in nonprofit arts administration and motivation to learn. Excellent oral and written communication skills and general computer competence. Ability to work independently, make sound judgments, and utilize interpersonal skills to work with a variety of staff, board members, artists, and volunteers.
Position is expected to begin mid-October 2022 and run through June 30, 2023. Position includes 10 hours per week. Work hours can be crafted to fit the successful candidate’s schedule but should include at least 2-3 partial days between the hours of 11-5, M-F. Work may be done remotely but office days will be required periodically to execute mailings and prepare materials for concerts. Attendance at all concerts and events will also be requested in addition to these regular office hours.
$15/hour, paid on a bi-weekly basis

Our interns are exposed to many aspects of nonprofit arts, and previous staff members have secured jobs at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, WFMT, Museum of Science and Industry, and elsewhere.
