Tastes of Paradise: Music for Pleasures of the Palate - Chicago a cappella

Program creation and Music Direction by Jonathan Miller

Do you crave pleasure?  You’re not alone. Wars have been fought for substances of pleasure–spices, wine, coffee, herbs, tobacco, beer, and, of course, chocolate. Travel with us from the 13th century to our own time as we regale you with music about pleasures of the palate. We’ll serve up a heady mix of songs from the original Carmina Burana; recipes from the Renaissance; madrigals about the spice trade; torch songs about black coffee (sweet and hot); and hilarious nibbles of history to complete the banquet. After the concert, enjoy yummies while you mingle with the artists. Join us for this musical feast!
