From the North:
Take I-90/94 east toward downtown Chicago. Exit at Ohio Street and continue east on Ohio Street. Turn left onto State Street, then right onto Erie Street. Murphy Auditorium is located at 50 E. Erie Street, between State Street and Wabash Avenue.
From the West:
Take I-290 east toward downtown Chicago. Continue onto Congress Parkway/Ida B. Wells Drive, then travel north toward the Near North Side via Dearborn or State Street. Turn east onto Erie Street. Murphy Auditorium is located at 50 E. Erie Street, between State Street and Wabash Avenue.
From the South:
Take I-90/94 west toward downtown Chicago. Exit toward Ohio Street and continue east on Ohio Street. Turn left onto State Street, then right onto Erie Street. Murphy Auditorium is located at 50 E. Erie Street.
Parking
Murphy Auditorium does not have a dedicated parking lot. Several paid parking garages are available within a few blocks of the venue. Nearby options include the AC Hotel Chicago Garage at 630 N. Rush Street and the ROW Garage at 50 E. Ohio Street.
Because rates and availability vary, we recommend reserving parking in advance when possible and allowing additional time for downtown traffic.
Limited metered street parking may also be available in the surrounding neighborhood.
Public Transit
Murphy Auditorium is conveniently accessible by CTA train and bus.
CTA Red Line: Take the Red Line to the Chicago station at Chicago Avenue and State Street. Walk south on State Street approximately three blocks to Erie Street, then turn left and walk east to 50 E. Erie Street.
CTA Brown or Purple Line: Take the Brown or Purple Line to the Chicago station at Chicago Avenue and Franklin Street. Walk east on Chicago Avenue to State Street, then south to Erie Street and east to the auditorium.
Several CTA bus routes also serve Michigan Avenue, State Street, and the surrounding Near North Side neighborhood.
Accessibility
An elevator is available from sidewalk level down ½ level to rest rooms, and up to first floor seating. Seats on the first floor are movable chairs with no arms and can accommodate wheelchair seating. The elevator also reaches the balcony but stairs are required to reach the seats.
