Winter a cappella - Chicago a cappella

Winter a cappella

Program creation and Music Direction by Jonathan Miller

Revel in the best of the old and the new. Traditional carols meet with vibrant new scores from around the world. Join us for vocal-jazz holiday carols by Gene Puerling and Robert Convery; the famous chorale-motet Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming by Hugo Distler; a haunting setting of the Annunciation story by Denmark’s Per Norgard; the Winter raga from India; the Christmas Spirituals Medley by Chanticleer’s Joseph Jennings; three Yuletide Carols by Jerry Troxell; and doo-wop Hannukah settings by Steve Barnett. You’ll hear all of this, and more, sung with Chicago a cappella‘s impeccable tuning and a light-hearted spirit.
