The Nordic Wolf and the Water of Life - Chicago a cappella

Program creation and Music Direction by Jonathan Miller

An original a cappella story opera with Megan Wells, storyteller.

For the first time, Chicago a cappella collaborates with acclaimed storyteller Megan Wells to recreate the ancient Swedish myth, “The Fire-Bird.”  Though all three of the king’s songs seek to revive their ailing father, only one will make the true hero’s journey and bring back the water of life.  The epic, eternal themes are set perfectly with the crown jewels of modern Scandinavian choral music, by Gunnar Eriksson, Thorkell Sigurbjornsson, Vagn Holmboe, Nils Lindberg, Jaakko Mantyjarvi, Trond Kverno, and others.
