CHICAGO—Chicago’s acclaimed vocal ensemble Chicago a cappella shines a spotlight on songwriting and performing duos at their new concert, Dynamic Duos: The Greatest Musical Partnerships,  April 5th through 14th.  Veteran pop arranger Paul Langford will provide music direction and exciting new arrangements of songs by Elton John & Bernie Taupin, the Carpenters, Hall & Oates, Simon & Garfunkel, and more.  The ten professional vocalists of Chicago a cappella will also present works from opera (“Soave sia il vento” from Mozart’s Cosí fan Tutte), operetta (songs by Gilbert & Sullivan), and musical theater (by George & Ira Gershwin, Rodgers & Hammerstein, and Lerner & Loewe), as well as familiar pop songs like “The Girl from Ipanema,” “Yesterday,” and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”  Experience the astounding stylistic versatility of these great singers in this fun-filled season-closing concert.

At the final performance of Dynamic Duos, you can experience Chicago a cappella in a whole new way at one of the city's top hot spots, Lincoln Hall. Chicago a cappella is one of the area’s most accomplished and innovative vocal ensembles. Spanning a repertoire from Gregorian chant to the Beatles and beyond, the group is presenting its 25th anniversary season under founding Artistic Director Jonathan Miller. This season’s concerts, prepared by Principal Music Director John William Trotter and renowned guest music directors, will be presented at eight venues in the Chicago area. The ensemble has been hailed as “the area’s best unaccompanied group” (Chicago Magazine) and “the city’s liveliest, most versatile vocal ensemble” (Chicago Tribune).
