Tastes of Paradise:
Music for the Pleasures of the Palate

April/May 1998

Do you crave pleasure?  You're not alone.  Wars have been fought for substances of pleasure -- spices, wine, coffee, herbs, tobacco, beer, and, of course, chocolate.  Travel with us from the 13th century to our own time as we regale you with music about pleasures of the palate.  We'll serve up a heady mix of songs from the original Carmina Burana; recipes from the Renaissance; madrigals about the spice trade; torch songs about black coffee (sweet and hot); and hilarious nibbles of history to complete the banquet.  After the concert, enjoy yummies while you mingle with the artists.  Join us for this musical feast!
