Chicago a cappella's Gala 2006: The Black and Red Ball
Tuesday, May 9, 2006 - Union League Club of Chicago

Chicago a cappella's "Black and Red Ball" was an exclusive evening of delicious food, wonderful art, and beautiful music, raising over $15,000 to support Chicago a cappella.  A highlight of the evening was a special presentation to our guest honoree, Anne Heider.  We're grateful to everyone who made this wonderful evening such a great success!  View photos from the event.

Special Guest Honoree: Anne Heider

Dr. Anne Heider is the Artistic Director Emeritus of Bella Voce, one of the area’s premier choral organizations. A founding singer of the group when it began in 1983 as His Majestie’s Clerkes, Dr. Heider held the position of Artistic Director from 1989 until her retirement in 2005. Under her leadership, the ensemble made acclaimed recordings, commissioned and premiered important new choral works, and presented concerts of the highest quality. She is active as a guest conductor and an acclaimed arranger and composer of choral music. She also is on the faculty of Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts, and serves on the Board of Directors of Chorus America. We were pleased to honor Dr. Heider’s enormous contributions to a cappella choral music at Gala 2006: “The Black and Red Ball.”
